Welcome Olaf the Elf!
We have a new student.....from the North Pole! Santa sent Olaf to our classroom to keep an eye on these kids until Christmas break. I bet he didn't realize our students were so good. :)

Write the Room Activities
This is a packet of ten pages of Write the Room literacy work. They include beginning letters, words that end with e, words that begin with a capital letter, days of the week, words with two vowels, words that end with y, words with only one vowel, months of the year, long and short vowel words, names of friends, words that begin with th or ch, words that begin with a vowel, and much more!!!
Bubble Gum Contractions
This is another matching game that can be laminated and used as a literacy center. It includes 40 cards with 20 different contractions and six reinforcement worksheets.
First Week of School Activity Booklet
I love this!!! When I saw the new clip art that Krista Wallden posted I knew immediately what I wanted to create! I have been searching for the perfect activity booklet for the first week of school. This unit includes artwork and questions that won't stress out these little ones who are already nervous about school. There are two boy and two girl choices for their "about me" page. There is also a page for their friends, their school, their teacher, and their favorite thing about school. I can't wait to use this in my classroom next month!
Calendar Math
This is one of my favorite packets I've posted. I guess the reason I like it so much is I'm always searching for a good calendar for the kids to fill in and answer a few quick questions. There is a page for all twelve months. Each page has a blank calendar to number and four questions to answer. Some of the answers are the same but one or two are different each month.
Monkey Math
This precious little monkey packet includes 11 printable work pages and includes single digit addition, subtraction, numbers 1-20, ordinals, and solve & color. This is one of my faves because of the cute monkey illustrations!
Short Vowel Singular/Plural Matching Game
This is the same type of game as the long vowel matching cards except it includes four printable reinforcement worksheets! (....and it's not a freebie...lol)

I'm Back!!!!
I have not posted on this blog since January!! Shame on me! I have no good excuse for it but I do have great intentions of keeping up now, especially since school will be starting in just a few weeks! In the meantime I will be posting several units I have added to my Teachers Pay Teachers store. Check out my store at www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Dovie-Funk and follow me!

Penguin Facts
This is a cute project we made today. We painted the edge of an inexpensive paper plate black. The head of the penguin is the center of the first paper plate and the tummy is another paper plate. I had them add one of the facts we have learned about penguins. Precious!!

File Folder Games to the Rescue!!
I'm adding a few new file folder games for the kids to play while they are waiting for their classmates to finish their work. These are perfect for small classrooms that don't have room for extra shelves for learning centers!
Teaching 2-digit Addition
We use a class store to teach and practice 2-digit addition. The kids enjoy making up their own addition facts by "shopping" at the store. The prices will secretly go up when we start learning regrouping.
